This is the absolute best way to experience the unique Finnish winter nature. Snowshoeing is an easy way to explore the beautiful forests of Kuopio. This trip combines the Finnish winter forest, the traditional Finnish smoke sauna, tasty outdoor dinner by campfire and an awesome international small group. Jätkänkämppä smoke sauna was awarded to be one of the 10 best saunas in whole Finland by Culture Trip in May 2017.

Experience the stunning Finnish winter nature on snow shoes
We start our trip by giving a short instructions about the snow shoes and about the needed technique. The snow shoeing part of the trip is approximately 2 hours and the route is designed to be physically suitable for everyone. We are sure that everyone is going to enjoy this snow shoe safari !
Experience one of the top ten saunas in Finland
Right after snow shoeing and the tasty meal we hit to the Finnish smoke sauna. Finnish smoke sauna is no regular wood-heated stove. The most obvious difference in the Finnish smoke sauna is the lack of chimney. The smoke is allowed to go through the door immediately prior the sauna-goers entering and the sauna then relies on its stored-up heat. This gives the Finnish smoke sauna a completely different atmosphere, and makes it a truly unique experience. While using the smoke sauna, we highly recommend to take a cooling dip in the ice hole in the lake.
Experience one of the ”must-do´s” on your bucket list
One of the things on people´s bucket list when travelling or living in Finland, is ice hole swimming. This trip gives you the best opportunity to do this activity after the sauna. After the dip, the best thing to do is just going back to heat of the smoke sauna.

Departure: Rauhalahti, Rauhankatu 3, Kuopio. You can take bus number 7 from the city center or hop on to the bus from the bus stop near by UEF and Savonia.
